Is this a scam?
by Ned Miller 4 years ago
It s not a Nigerian prince but this does smell a little. A couple of weeks back I received an email from someone with an American or British type name from Romania and he inquired about me doing a two

Yes, I just got the same email today. OK - so what is he trying to do Is it just the hopes of a small refund for "overpayment" by a check he sends that will never clear anyway (Good luck on that one!)

This crashing is getting worse, and quite random. Part way through a render. Instantly upon pressing play in a timeline. Etc. Every time it is a complete crash, back to a cold boot. I did see a post s

Multiclip/Pluraleyes problem in FCP7: Following all instructions (pretty sure anyway), reloading project many times, re-syncing with pluraleyes(3) many times, finally get the multiclip up in 12 frames (images) in Viewer, load it into timeline, everything seems OK.
What happens next? the only way I can get it to accept my edit choices is to set sync to video + audio. Then even though the timeline (sometimes) accepts my choices and places markers, the markers will vanish as soon as the playhead reaches the end of the 3 minute clip and stops. In addition, half of the clips get seriously out of sync as the piece moves along - yet some dont.
Very frustrated, have looked at many blogs and tutorials, seem to have all settings correct.
Thanks for any tips or ideas!

Possible Multiclip bug in Final Cut Pro 7?
by Nick Derrico 11 years ago
I just got Final Cut Pro 7 and I think I've stumbled upon a bug with multiclip editing, as I have never had this issue in FCP 6. I'm curious if anybody else has had this problem, or if I'm just being

Thanks good tip! My problem now is that FCP7 drops all the markers I've placed, as soon as I hit pause or return. Poof! they vanish! Every time. -Peter Horizon Pictures, Inc. Wilson Wyoming
Multiclip/Pluraleyes problem in FCP7

Simple concept: shoot one woman playing four different parts in her own arrangement (a Shubert Sonata) with two cameras on each take, to playback from a premixed track. Load in as PR422 Proxy. All cam
"Trim Bin" with selected icons
by Peter Pilafian 11 years ago
I'd bet this has been covered somewhere, but I couldn't find it, so here's the question: Is there a 'simple' way to create a screen (probably in the browser) that will display a representative frame f

Printing FCP log notes
by Peter Pilafian 11 years ago
We have 140 rolls of captured video on a project and are looking for the best way to print out selective columns of log notes, including time code on the clips and subclips. We've tried a program call

Thanks for all these ideas. We will probably end up using Excel, because it is more compact and more manipulateable. Drawback of course is no thumbnails. Maybe someday apple will include a nice printo
fcp6 fails to capture time code

Cant seem to get past this one, so I am tossing it out to the most productive forum I know - Creative Cow. Since installing Studio 2, source time code does not get attached to the captured clips, even

David - You are absolutely right - Aja support is terrific. Solution to this problem was the good old "trash all Preferences" in both Aja and FCP. Now I have only to figure out why there is a 3 frame
How to slide audio sync

I think this is pretty basic, but I havent been able to find the solution anywhere, so thanks for any help. Problem: audio on a continuous, single camera, approx. 4 minute long music piece, came into

David - Many thanks, that does the trick! Only remaining question (again, a simple one..) is: how to adjust the audio track by nudging it a frame or two forward or back before again locking the new sy
Canon XHA1 Custom presets

This lovely camera has 9 Custom presets. But I cannot for the life of me find out what the factory settings are - they just have numbers. I know some of them have various cine gamma curves. But which

Lou Bruno "Some of the new cameras do not have a name for the last few presets in the menu. The earlier A1's did." I wasn't aware of that Lou. I wonder if that means the newer cams have a updated fir
Realtime conversion via Kona LH
by Peter Pilafian 14 years ago
Is there a setting which will allow us to output 1080i (to an HDCam deck) from a 720P timeline in FCP in real time, using the Kona LHe SDI output Is it critical how the clips have come into FCP from t
Re: Realtime conversion via Kona LH
by AJA Sales Department 14 years ago
Hi, KONA LHe does not have cross-conversion, which is the feature you are looking for to convert 720 1080. The KONA 3 does have this capability, as well as SD to HD up-convert. Thank you, -- AJA Video
Kona LH in FCP 4.5
by Peter Pilafian 14 years ago
Just got our Kona LH. The AJA manual says we must have FCP 5 installed before installing the LH. Is this really true Will the LH work OK with FCP 4.5 Is it just a matter of not having a few extra feat
Re: Kona LH in FCP 4.5

i don't think 4.5 would be wise since the Kona LH came out when FCP 5 was shipping.
