Creating closed captions to particular specs
by Perry Kroll 5 years ago
Hi guys, Sorry for my ignorance on this topic. I've done a fair bit of searching, but it seems this is a bit of a voodoo-ish topic. I received a request to create closed captions on a 15-sec spot, to

Hi Perry, we have used 3Play Media (http: www.3playmedia.com) to create our caption files. On their site, you upload a low res reference movie and they will either: a) transcribe and create a closed c
Any tricks to fix over-sharpened video?

I'm working on a project with a ton of mixed media sources, and some clips were shot on a Canon Rebel that unfortunately had sharpening turned up all the way in the shooting profile. Anyone ever come

Works like a charm! Crappy footage now slightly less crappy. I also blurred the matte layer a bit which seemed to work better for my situation.
color shift when importing Illustrator to After Effects
by Michael Greenwald 8 years ago
My colors look totally off in AE compared to how I made them in AI. The colors have different hex numbers (checked after making the AI file a shape vector in AE). I think it's a CMYK RGB problem. The

I think what you're asking for is to get the position of a null that is a child of another null. Try this. Of course you may need to adapt for Z to make it work for Particular, but that's at least a s
weird problem with velocity and keyframes on every frame

I've got a physics simulation made in Newton. For those unfamiliar with Newton, it bakes to keyframes and typically puts one keyframe on every frame for each layer that it animates. I am trying to set

velocityAtTime(time-thisComp.frameDuration 2) 0 does the trick! I had already tried an absolute value. Thanks for the insight!
Force AE CC to refresh the cache on preview?
by Perry Kroll 6 years ago
Sorry if this has an obvious answer - I've been searching to no avail! Sometimes AE CC decides a layer hasn't changed (even though it has!) and the green bar stays there. This happens to me a lot when

Mac OSX Dock Genie Effect...
by James Choi 11 years ago
I've been doing a lot of searching on CC but have not found a proper way to create the genie effect. The magnifying part of it I've managed to figure out but not the positioning part of it.
