You cannot put a WMV codec successfully into an AVI container. It must go into a WMV container. This is probably why its not working for you. I don't know if Avid can export into a WMV container. I've

Avid certifies Quadro cards, not GeForce cards. This is not to say it won't work, but it's not a supported configuration. There is some information in the Avid forums (at the Avid site) about this and

You shouldn't need any plug-ins at all. In fact, MC4 didn't need any plug-ins either. I ran MC4 for a short while before going to MC5 and never had a moments trouble linking to AMA volume or AMA file.

Thank you, I was able to find how to export AVI, and unfortunately, Sorenson does not pick up the VFW AVI options. So I won't be able to use it to meet my needs.

Yes, Render your video at 1280x720 square pixels. Use h.264 avc to do it. I use about 6 Mbps. You can do a 2-pass if you like. I've been VERY pleased with the results.

I don't cut XDCamHD, but do with XDCam EX in both Vegas 8.1 and 8.0b and 8.0c. My workflow is Shoot Clipbrowser export MXF Open clips in Vegas From there, it's editing as with any other kind of file.

Yes, Uncompressed isn't too helpful! You have a couple of choices: 1. Render lossless AVI *use Sony YUV* 2. Render lossless MOV *use MJpegA or PNG Best* 3. Render to smaller but slightly lossy format
