You are able to change the timeline settings, but it's kinda hidden. You can right click on the timeline in the bin and choose MODIFY, then fromt he dropdown menu choose SET FORMAT and you can choose

It's actually a pretty good thing. Avid and FCP usually have to redraw the waveforms. If you let it just conform the audio, it won't slow you down while editing because the audio waveforms pretty much

Depends on what you'll be exporting for. Most likely, export using the same frame rate as the footage, Square Pixel, 1920x1080p, a bitrate of 4.5MB average and 5.5 should be sufficient but you can go

Your LCD is probably not calibrated correctly. It's probably set to a really high brightness setting. If you're using the camera LCD, try knocking it down on brightness, using that little gauge on the

You can just grab the .VOB files and put those into the timeline and edit those but when you render back out, depending on your delivery, you're going to have to compress it again. You can render to Q
