What's your max not range you plan to grade to If it's 1000 nits the 311 is the better panel by the looks of it but more expensive. If high then I'd go with the 310 at 3K nits. Pat Horridge Broadcast

Sadly this is the risk with NLEs that store the whole project in one file. Even auto save and auto backups can't be relied upon. It's imperative that end of session manual copies to alternate storage

The pixels are not square as they are in HD and UHD. They are either 4:3 or 16:9aspect ratio pixels. Hence why you need a flag to indicate if they arec4:3 or 16:9 Pat Horridge Broadcast & Post Consult

The settings do look like they should work as expected. Have you actually re-ingested your exported file and checked yourself there is a problem Or use media info and see if you are getting 8 tracks.

Media info on the Mp4 source file. My guess is its an unusual audio sample rate. Possibly 32khz So you may need to externally extract the audio and sample rate convert to 48khz and then use that audio

Dump the fire wire solution. You are limiting the data rate at best at at worst are ending up with DV compression. Use a facility that can capture uncompressed ideally. Having a deck isn't the same as

Last I heard H265 was expevted 2014. The same quality as H264 but half tge fike size. But 3 times tge encoding decoding effort. Si that 2 hour H264 encide will now take 6 hours! And its in an aging QT
