Truth... once you use a good robust dynamic system of trimming you will not be able to edit without it... it is just so much faster, smoother, and more efficient than using trim tools. Cinematographer

Deep DOF doesn't necessarily mean lack of quality. Look at Citizen Kane and all the great deep focus movies of the 1950's for example. Shallow DOF is aesthetically pleasing and is a very useful tool b

I have two GTX 470's currently installed in my Mac Pro. One for Adobe stuff, the other for Resolve. No problem. I pulled directly from the optical bay for the second card (each takes two connectors).

Premiere Pro can work with MTS and M2TS files directly, just drag em in. I've had clients give me AVCHD M2TS files without a card structure before and they have come right in just like any other file

I second Bridge and batch renaming... it's the best way to keep track of footage in a long-form project with multiple shooters, so you don't get two different files both called "MVI_0984" or something

Ultra keyer in Premiere Pro and Keylight in After Effects are your best bet for built-in effects. Can't comment on others but I've heard good things about Red Giant's Primatte. I used to use Keylight

if you know FCP7 then you basically know Premiere Pro, that is how similar they are, just a few minor differences. There is even a FCP keyboard shortcuts preset so you don't have to learn new shortcut
