This really belongs on the basics forum. See if this gets you started. It's for FCE but it works the same in FCP http: www.fcpbook.com Motion_Control_in_FCE.html All the best, Tom Class on Demand DVDs

Not trying to be argumentative, Bruce has made several valid points, however there are a few reasons for adding the latter 2009 copyright date. 1. Festivals and distributors can, at times, get hung-up

by Oliver Jones 11 years ago
Hi, I've finished editing my film on Final Cut Pro and have been asked for a master copy with an audio reference tone (frequency 1KHz at a level of 20dbFS=+4dbu=0vu). What does this tone mean for broa
Re: audio reference tone for film

In Final Cut Pro the volume of the tone they're asking for is ,according to a previous CreativeCow forum, -12db. If my film occasionally goes up to -10db is that ok Or do I Have to avoid going over I'

Hi, After setting up FCP 6 on my new Mac Pro I have encountered a very annoying problem: there is slight delay between video and audio which makes accurate editing impossible. It says all is in synch
Re: video delay

Thanks for the info. I'll try that. An interesting fact I came across: When I convert my timeline setting to Quicktime H264 it's in synch. I have always worked in DV PAL, so that seems to be a problem

Hi, I was recently asked to produce a master of my film on Beta SP for broadcast with at least 30 seconds of color bars at the beginning. Which is the best standard color bar option to use Thanks.
Re: Color bars

I suppose the best is to use "Mire et 1000 Hz PAL" (in French) in Video Generators right

Re: German Documentary Format?

The copy was PAL. I think it's either the length of my film (the standard French TV length: 52 minutes) or, more likely, the style. What kind of documentaries do german people watch OR, a way to say "

What is 52 minutes?
by Oliver Jones 11 years ago
Hi, I'd like to know how long "52 minutes" generally is for a broadcaster. 51.43 52.34 What are the limits Cheers.
Re: What is 52 minutes?

Thanks for the replies. The problem is that I was just asking how long 52 minutes could be regarding minutes and seconds, not drop frames etc.
Baby crying
by Oliver Jones 11 years ago
Hi, In one of my interviews, a baby starts crying in the background. You can't hear it too much but it's annoying. Is there a way to isolate and lower this sound How must I proceed Cheers.
Re: Baby crying

You can try a noise gate expander for this...Or spectral editing with the marquee tool. Neither will produce perfect results, but you may be able to get somewhere with them. Emmett
