Copy Keyframes from Layer Transform Rotation to Layer Contents > Shape Group Transform Rotation

I created an animation that rotates a group of shapes, and I would like to move the keyframes (so that I can apply a stroke to them altogether as one object) from the Layer Transform Rotation to the L

Quick question based on the screen shot: are all four properties (not just Rotation) in Transform selected when you do your ctrl+c ctrl+v
Converting the negative space of a shape layer into its own layer?

I'm trying to use shapes to create mattes. I was hoping there was a way to immediately highlight the negative space that a shape layer makes as its own layer. Example: https: i.imgur.com z4KmVFK.png I

Possibly, you may wanna try Merge Paths. Get a shape: Duplicate and add background to the second shape layer: And Merge Paths to Contents: Set mode to Subtract and probably get something close to what
AE_CS6 Scripting

Hello everybody, I hope you are all doing great. In After Effects cs6 scripting guide, it says that the attribute "numProperties" returns the number of indexed properties within a group of properties,

It most likely speaks of Layer Object which indeed has just those three indexed properties. Layer Object's subclasses (like AVlayers or Text Layers) have many other indexed properties which are counte

You're welcome! The thing you see is because when self-referencing in an expression like taking "valueAtTime" of current layer it actually references to the static value. So it goes to zero because th

I see here a whip following the dots. Dots are animated and arranged in a strict order which can be done one way or another: Running a coarse line through them can be done with createPath(): Smoothing

What is faster? Time remapping or valueAtTime?

Re: What is faster? Time remapping or valueAtTime?
by Alex Printz 1 week ago
yes, time remapping will be faster as Oleg showed. It has to do with how expressions run and how after effects renders; every time an expression is calling another value outside of itself to come in,

Hi Oleg,

On the off chance that you have young children I can post you a copy of one of my picture books as a thank you for your help today. (Aftereffects is a hobby, writing kids books is my job) If you don't have young children then my thanks on it's own will have to do!

Cheers,

You're welcome, though on the second thought what you really need is this: 1) A slider for Speed called "Speed". 2) A second slider to compute distance (called "Distance") based on keyframe integratio
Dynamically change 3D light color based on pixel color

As far as I understand it, sampleImage method does exactly what you need. This goes to light's color property expression: thisComp.Layer("Concert Video Footage Layer").sampleImage(SELECTED_PIXEL_COORD

In general, rotation and scale can be retrieved through observing the transformation of unit vector from child vector space to comp's vector space. I.e.: child = thisComp.layer("Child Layer") unit vec

Please someone help me identify the cause for this weird pixels appearing on my viewer, It is the Plexus that is causing this but I guess it has something to do with my GPU (1050ti) Settings. Thanks

I think the glow looks like that because after effects needs a layer underneath for the glow to blend with, see how the glow operation is set to "add". With a transparent background there is no layer
