Try making a new Project, and copying and pasting the whole timeline in to it. Then render and export and see if that shakes loose any weirdness.

I have footage from an XA-10 that I accidentally shot in PF24 instead of 24P. When I import it on FCP 7, no matter whether I have the "remove pulldown" preference checked or not, it comes in as 29.97.

.m4v files are generally similar to .mp4 files. Fundmental simple math is File Size is Data Rate times Duration. I can't make it simpler than that. After all Data Rate is usually described in Some Bit

I found that if you have a card reader it will give you this error, I now plug the camera directly to the computer and am able to copy across the media i have shot and am able to delete and manipulate

I think your card reader disconnected due to some unexpected reasons. But you can recover your data by employing Remo Recover tool. I found this tool on internet and it attracted me with its recovery
