Hmmm ... tough to diagnose without seeing the project and knowing what effects you are adding. Some effects will darken an image, even slightly, and of course this is obvious when you cut it back into

Why not capture HDV (through Kona) directly to ProRes 1080 Is this what you are doing I have a Z5u. I go out HDMI from camera to HDMI in on LHi breakout box and capture directly to ProRes 1080 preset.

Yes, you can capture HDV with Vegas 6. However, if you're going to be working with the HDV footage, you'll be happier with Vegas 7 as handling of the HDV files is MUCH faster in Vegas 7.Edward Troxel
