Ty- Yes, it's 2019, I've heard of Google. As I made sure to mention early on in my post, I did in fact search the web - extensively. The manual itself is easily found in multiple locations. What I am
Particular Layer Emitter (Set Color greyed out)

Hello, I am trying to apply a 'Color over Life' with my particles which are Emitting off a Layer (composition with other layers inside) and it only seems to pick up the colors of the layer, where as I

Sean- read the OC again. "Set Color" is greyed out. This is apparently what happens when you have a layer emitter, so you'll need to go to that layer and make any color alterations there, I guess. Tha
Undulating 3D grid

On Dan Ebbert's site there is a great expression for an undulating grid that recreates ocean-like movement. Now, I know the code doesn't really allow for 3D (just a 3D illusion), but I attempted to tr

Taking Ebberts' noise() article one step further, turn his expression into a function, place in an external text file, then have each of the elements in your undulating grid comp call that function wh

ProAnimator Roll Z bounce Back

I know that this is probably something very simple but I am somehow missing it. Whenever I use the Roll Z action on a transition it stops somewhere near the end and goes back the other direction. What

OK I just figured out (I think) the answer to my problem. In order to make a sphere rotate in place... you don't do "Pose Action:Spin Y" (for example) on the transition, with two poses bookending it.

I'll also add that being too eager to say 'yes' is a fatal trap which will bite you in the arse over and over and make you very bitter and angry over time.

For those of you (especially younger people in the business) who aren't aware of this... political campaigns generally (almost always) close up shop the day after the election or, at the latest, the e
Grinding back when good clients start to Grind

True, yes- it's easy to assume a client is an evil troll when they pay slowly or stop paying, especially with today's economy. Sadly, pretty much 80% of the clients who seem like trolls turned out to

Good clients really do exist in this business - people who understand there is such a thing as 'value' that goes beyond the bottom line. Too bad about the other 5 (6 7 8 9 ) out of 10 who only care ab
Renting out my equipment on zilok.com

I'm kicking around the idea of buying an HD DSLR and renting it out when I'm not using it. It seems silly to set up a legit rental company just to rent a single piece of equipment. I ran across the we

Personally, I would never, ever rent out my gear to strangers. There is just too much room for 'things' to happen. And when (not if, but WHEN) they do... you'll have quite a headache on your hands. Fi
