A warm Mooooo to all We finished a small 8 minute project for a non-profit (good cause) and were paid in full. The client is asking for some minor changes and is willing to pay for those as well. BUT

Walter is entirely correct on all counts. I have been producing commercials for over thirty years and the AICP contract that we have been using for years clearly states: 5. OWNERSHIP Except as otherwi

Re: Premiere CS6 not loading preview files

I just asked Adobe about this and they said you must rerender your preview files every time you open PP. I wonder why all of the preview files are saved in folders if you can never link to them. I sup

I just had a 2 year old Transcend 16GB Class 6 fail during a shoot. The camera indicated "Invalid Media" after shooting for 20 minutes. I now have a 3.7GB file that will not open and cannot be repaire

Render clip command?

I am an FCP switcher and I have not been able to figure out to select a clip and use that selection to render out a section of a timeline as you can do in FCP. This is killing me. I do not want to str
Re: Render clip command?
by Michael Brassert 8 years ago
That is what I am afraid of. It really slows down the work flow as opposed to clicking on a clip and have the selected clip create your in and out for your work area as in FCP.
My FCP did not crash

For the first time in years my FCP has not crashed once in 3 days despite heavy use on multiple projects including a 1080i 1 hour show with multiple layers of footage , graphics, filters and audio. I

I also had an obscure app from ecamm.com that was used to record Skype calls. It injects itself in the Quicktime stack to trick things like iChat and can cause instability. I never would have thought
Is there a market for a 1994-95 Media 100 Suite

Trust me, it has $0 value. I sold an up to date version in 2002 and the only buyer I could find was out of the country. I sold a system I had over $30,000 invested for under $1000. I still have 2 medi

I have been in the industry since 1981. I shot film until 2001. I made the post move to tape from film in 1985, to Avid in 1991 with a linear online, Media 100 to master from 1994 to 2002, and FCP til

I decided to download the trial of 10.0.1 this week. Now I understand why everyone is so bummed. Talk about reinventing the wheel. I really would have been happy with a 64bit, multiprocessor aware ver

I have a ProMax SATAMAX, I also have a BVW70 and sold my BVW75 with DT heads several years ago. if you know what DT heads are and understand SATAMAX you just might be qualified to answer my question.

I have never had a problem with HDV or XDCam as long as I am cutting straight footage. Once I begin adding filters or layers it is all over. FCP crashes continuously. A ProRes timeline and SafeRT help
Project Archive question

Thanks to both of you. This is exactly what I was looking for. I downloaded both demos and evaluated them. CD Finer at $39.95 has a more modern interface but seems to scan much slower. I believe this

I just did this. I nested a clip and applied a filter to the nested clip. Worked great. In my case I had a SD clip in an HD sequence. I wanted the filter (SugarFX HUD) rendered in HD not SD. I would e
Why does my Final Cut suck in animating motion and size?

Re: Why does my Final Cut suck in animating motion and size?

I think I have found a work around for this issue. You must use the motion tab to set your keyframe values for scale. Do not use the handles in the Canvas. Make sure that the starting value is a round

You might want to look at the BlackMagic Design Multi-Bridge. Unlike the Kona 3 it can handle both analog component and digital -- both SD-SDI and HD-SDI. While it down-converts HD to SD on the fly it
