Yeah, I'm seeing the iPad 4 not capable of H.264 above level 4.1. So it looks like that approach is a non-starter with that device: "H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4

Yep, my mistake. You already said you're trying to avoid HQX because of the chroma subsampling. If I were you I'd just go with Cineform in a .mov wrapper instead of DNx. It will do what you want.

The tutorials listed on the right side of that compression web page you linked say to use the Sony AVC template when rendering, not the Main Concept one. They are only showing tutorials for Vegas 9-11

Since it would be best to batch the files, use Compressor. Match to the ProRes settings to what you have, then change the PCM audio to 16 bit. Render. Good Luck, Todd at UCSB Television Production

In regards to the "New" Sandisk rebatched Ultra II class 4 memory cards, well, SanDisk have changed the packaging and renamed them. eg., SanDisk Extreme class 10 used to be called SanDisk Extreme III.
