What speed are you burning your DVDs at What you describe sounds to me like you've burned at too high a speed setting. I never burn at more than 4x and use Tayo Yuden disks with designated 8x max spee

You are going to run into this issue even with a "real HD" codec like Panasonic's DVCPRO HD. I've just been through it. Other computers need FCP installed to be able to play footage output as DVCPRO H

Anne, if you are just doing DV, you could just get a cheap consumer DV camera with firewire and an analog output. Connect the 6 pin firewire from your computer to the 4 pin firewire at the camera and
