Shane, in the past I'd agree with you about AMA, but v8 of MC finally seems to be able to handle AMA acceptably for longer form cutting with some codecs. I've done 2 half hour episodes now with 1080p
Trouble using Merged clips when exporting to Protools?

Hi, I've been syncing and then merging external audio to video in FCP7 for several projects and it's seemed to work fine. I'm currently on a project that I've exported to OMF files for the sound edito
Re: Trouble using Merged clips when exporting to Protools?

I had a similar issue in MC 7.0.4 w NITRIS DX. Since our AVID version and system setup is very different, it is very possible my solution does not apply, so take it with a grain of salt: I worked with
FCP7 not recognizing video after replacing audio with ffmpeg

I work with audio and video that are recorded with separate devices. I use ffmpeg to replace the bad camera audio with a clean track without re-encoding anything so it's completely lossless. ffmpeg -i
Re: FCP7 not recognizing video after replacing audio with ffmpeg

Before you address the ffmpeg issue, I think you need to figure out why FCP is drawing the waveforms wrong. That shouldn't happen. It probably means the audio is being imported incorrectly (assuming t
AVID MXF hang during "preparing media"

Hey all, I opened a support ticket with Red Giant about this issue, but so far they haven't come up with a solution. I'm hoping someone here has! Using Avid MC 5.5.3 with Pluraleyes 3.5. The media is

The only other tip I got from Red Giant was to make sure the folder I'd set for PluralEyes to use for temp storage was not the same as the media folder, and that I had full read write permissions in t

Thanks for the confirmation Guy. With the batch of 7D footage I'm currently working on, the offset seems to be almost always 2 frames, but every so often I'll see a clip that is only 1 frame off. AND

I've searched the archive and it doesn't appear anyone has reported this problem. We are outputting using a KONA2 card and are finding the embedded audio on the SDI signal precedes the picture by 1-1.

Sorry for the long replay, got busy doing conforms and couldn't test this ... I appears that when doing a straight output, with no downconvert or 2:3 pulldown business, Audio is bang on. Maybe this is
