You shouldn't be working with the original H.264, you need to transcode your footage to Apple ProRes by letting FCPX optimize your media. You can edit with the H.264 but since it is not an optimised e

I do it through the browser: Typically when I capture, I log all the clips on the tape and then do a batch. Before I do a batch capture though, I select all the clips in the browser that I have logged

Short answer: No. FCP does not recognize TC over SDI. What I have been doing is taking the SD-SDI output from the camera with TC overlay on. Digitize it and then watch the footage to get my best takes
