by Martin Gleeson 3 years ago
I'm sure this is user error, but been using a Sony EX1 and I find that when shooting in strong sunlight, if the shot is anyway overexposed (and sometimes correctly exposed), the skin tones becomes thi

Thanks guys. Now that you mention it, I have also noticed black suits with a reddish tint to them. I found some videos on that Tiffen T1 IR filter and will look into trying that if I can get one. Than
Very disappointed with video quality from Canon 70d. Hoping it's operator error!

I'm a wedding videographer based on PAL land and I normally use that workhorse of wedding cameras, the EX1's and EX1R's. I love those cameras! I decided to buy myself a nice cheap DSLR camera. Anythin

Thank you so much for you're very helpful reply Neil. I'll keep an eye on the exposure. As for focus, I agree with you. I never use auto focus on my EX1's either. But focusing on these DSLR's is a who
Is this a badly framed wedding shot
by Martin Gleeson 5 years ago
No idea where to post this, but as the shot I'm considering is from a wedding (event) video,I thought I'd try here. Apologies if this is not the most appropriate place. Would you consider this a badly

Thanks for the responses. I actually spoke to my partner since and he explained that he actually had to couple so close to the right because the photographer was just to their right and he was trying
Please tell me I'm nuts! Canon XH A1 picture sharper than Sony EX1!
by Martin Gleeson 7 years ago
I've had XH A1's since 2007 and although I find them fine for most stuff, I really grew to hate them for low light performance. It was always the dream to get EX1's to replace them, but with the downt

Yes, I'm starting to see that I may very well be nuts alright. I'm quite relieved! My softest footage seems to be when I'm at F11 or higher. I am reading that the EX1 can get a big "soggy" around this
Terrible XH-A1 low, medium, upper-mid light performance? Or, am I using it wrong?
by Todd Roush 11 years ago
Hi All, I'm a spoiled DVX user coming to an XH-A1 which I just fought for 8 hours trying to get rid of some pretty shocking video noise. Now, I must admit that I just got the camera and may have false

Hi Todd, I would strongly advise against using auto-gain with this camera. You are correct, that when auto-gain is set, it will set the gain as high as it thinks it needs. This introduces terrible gra
Back-focus on Canon XH A1
by Martin Gleeson 11 years ago
Hello, I have a Canon XH A1 camera. I usually zoom-in very close on a subject to manually focus. Then zoom back out the subject should crystal clear. However, I am noticing that this is not working. W

Hey man, I just bought 2 canon XH A1 for a production company that i'm building. I think I have the same problem that you have on both of my cameras. I was asked to do a shoot at 4:3 ratio and 60i. I
Serious dropout problems with new XH AI's
by Martin Gleeson 12 years ago
I have two new XH A1 cameras. My current problem is dropouts. At first, I though it was Edius capture, but it actually is the camera when it's recording. And I am getting LOTS of them. Sometime 3 to 5

My supplier only offers Sony, not Fuji, I'll have to do a search (we Down Under don't have as many options). Mio
