As an update, just tried to get some info from Adobe on getting past the Qualifying Product issue. They were useless, only suggesting I upgrade to CC instead of actually trying to resolve the issue.

I can't say for sure if this is the problem, but check under: Project Project Settings Capture Properties, then check that the Desktop Preview Acceleration is set to None. I had a similar problem with
