Bring the clip into FCP, on the clip in the browser, right-click Make multi clip sequence. On the clip in the timeline, right-click collapse multi clip.

Select all the clips in your bin, right-click Make Multiclip Sequence. I don't need the folder of resulting clips, just the sequence so i delete that folder. It's just not needed for what i do.

I've just learned about nesting. In the past I've exported and then reimported to recut. This is lossy so I would prefer to use the nesting method but it would take forever to perform the exact edits
