"Would Compressor still be able to burn a DVD if it couldn't burn a BD " Yes. BD burners have two lasers, red for DVD and CD, and a blue laser for Blu Ray. Sounds like the blue laser has popped.
Apple Compressor ADDING interlacing to clips??

Compressor is likely misinterpreting your source file. When you drop the file into Compressor, check the Inspector and make sure it shows Progressive. Then apply your preset, and make sure in both Vid

Re: AVCHD organization question

As you said, I would try to avoid copying files between cards. Best to put the full file structure on a hard drive. Best third party software is ShotPut Pro. Co-President at fourB Productions, Inc. Bl
Use ClipWrap instead of transcoding to ProRes or DNXHD?
by Mac Caudill 7 years ago
I'm a new user of AVCHD and noticed the striking difference in file size between using Log & Transfer in FCP (or converting to a mxf file in Avid) versus using ClipWrap to wrap the .mts files in Quick

Arrrr...I knew it was too good to be true. I have a few decent-sized HDs, but love the idea of a small media footprint. Should I assume editing with the raw (Clip-Wrapped) files would make for a miser
Will re-transcoded media link in FCP7?

It has been suggested to make disc images of my SD cards so they can be mounted on the desktop, but I'm wondering what the purpose of that is. If you use Log & Transfer to transcode an sd card and edi

There's been several times that I've needed to go back into a long-deleted project and make changes, hence the need to relink to the original files. This was easy with miniDV tapes as I could recaptur

Re: Capturing in FCP: compatibility with cameras?

Thanks for the tip, however the need for capturing miniDV is so infrequent and sporadic I can't justify $500+ on a deck. At the same time, I want to make sure the camera is compatible with FCP (contro
