A m2t file isn't necessarily HD, it can be SD. M2T is the type of transport stream used in Blu-Rays for instance.

Any time you digitally slow something down by that much, it's going to look juddery without some work. There are some plugins you can buy for AE that will do a better job of smoothly slowing it down.

If you're talking about a 'normal' sequence you've edited, a lot of people suggest that a straight cut is the best option, and that others like dissolves are *usually* a weaker choice, when you can't
