Though Panasonic says it rarely happens, I am importing clips from a month long 3 camera shoot in Africa (3 HPX 171's) and out of 4000 clips about 80 have the same clip name (assigned by the camera).

Another option would be to check out Imagine Products "Proxy Mill". I haven't used it but according to the website it streamlines the process of doing what you need to do on this particular occasion.

That is correct, print to EDL but then choose to save the file in the CMX format. That way your reel numbers transfer correctly. If you save it as a SONY 5000 EDL, the reel numbers are translated as 0
