I do a lot of these 7:1 widescreen videos for projection as well. We use Avid 8.5 which allows for custom frame sizes and playback on ISIS is pretty good with DNXHR footage. I tried to replicate this

Jumping into a long form project in beta software probably isn't recommended...you are just asking for trouble. Lots of good info from Hans. I would argue that Smoke is designed for conforming feature

You can try exporting each clip into motion, and using optical flow when slowing down the footage. Depending on the motion you can definitely get good results. Do not "send to motion" as it will want

You should pick your framerate based on deliverables. Unless you are going to film, it is much cleaner to add pulldown to your 23.98 footage in compressor than it is to deinterlace remove pulldown fro
