by Karl Holt 13 years ago
First off, sorry for the cross post, but I felt this was more appropriate to this forum than the DVX100 forum... I have a film shot in PAL 25p that is being shown in an American festival. Currently th

I have a film shot in PAL 25p that has been accepted for an american festival. Currently the submission I have given them is frame blended to NTSC 30p. It looks a little strange. My hope was that I co

more frustrated than not after NAB...
by Chris Baldwin 13 years ago
Ok so the perfect camera "for me" doesn't exist. After attending NAB and spending the first three hours of my one day at the Panasonic booth (thanks for the cushy carpet), I discovered a few things th

I'm not so sure the $40,000 is anywhere near the mark for a cheapo guy like me. Currently the SI camera shoots onto 2.5" notebook drives - Red have said they are going to use sata 2.5" drives too (as

Will Panasonic or any company showing a HVX200 be at the show I cannot see Panasonic on the exhibitors list, which is odd. Karl

Panasonic Chip De-Mystified?
by George 14 years ago
Well I heard today that the camera chip on the HVX 200 is not 1080 native. So that marketing spoof of 1080 scanning is misleading at best. So heres the deal. The chip is only slightly higher than 720

I did say that directly after my 1080 comment..... "If you shoot 720p onto P2 you can store the native progressive frames (720p native mode, i think) "
HVX200: PAL or NTSC
by Andrei Bocharnikov 14 years ago
Hi, With new Panasonic HVX200 I am going to shoot only HD format. So, in one shop they have only NTSC cameras. My questions are: - is format consideration for SD or it is different for HD to shoot als
Re: HVX200: PAL or NTSC
by Karl Holt 14 years ago
Sorry Andrew the HVX can only shoot SD DV25 to the DV tape. 720p must be shot to either the P2 card or an external device such as the upcoming firestore or cineporter. Also if you want to shoot DVCPRO
The 2.0 "New" Feature Set Game
by Richard Milner 14 years ago
If Adobe were to release PP2.0 at a major show before the end of the year, IBC is the likely candidate. The question is--- will it be in good enough shape to do so Only Adobe knows for sure. I'm getti

4:3 to 16:9 (Letterboxing) Without Image degradation
by Bill Buchanan 14 years ago
Posted this question on the BMD forum, but thought I'd post it here, too: Does anyone out there know of an app that transforms non-anamorphic DV material shot at 4:3 to 16:9 WITHOUT just cutting off
Re: 4:3 to 16:9 (Letterboxing) Without Image degradation
by Karl Holt 14 years ago
Bill the only way to get 4:3 to 16:9 is to crop the 4:3 footage or strech it to 16:9 - so the image is distorted and everyone has fat faces. What you are asking is otherwise impossible. Something that
Any News on DVCPROHD support?

With the Panasonic HVX camcorder due to be released in Autumn this year, have Adobe announced any plans to support it yet I read somewhere that fistly windows has to support the codec; which means Ado
Re: Any News on DVCPROHD support?

Very true, but bear in mind I'm a single freelancer I cant afford to stack my home out with XDCAM decks and DVCPROHD decks. I can't get my hands on an XDCAM, 24p recording or 1080 HD for under $6000.
