There IS a method to extract the package, edit a line of text, re-compress and then install. But it's not worth it--this doesn't fix anything. Seems like there is a problem with the CUDA driver itself

How did you edit in FCP7 not with the R3D files I hope. Anyway, yeah I don't think taking the extra step to Redcine X is necessary. You can conform in Resolve using the EDL to your original R3D files.
