I've had this problem before and as far as I know it's a problem with Quicktime player. Open a file in QT player and VLC and see which one is closest to your Resolve GUI - it's always VLC as QT player

To answer your question, is there software to fill in the gaps, the answer is no. And duplicating frames probably isn't a good approach. You'll end up with stutterry playback. I'd say the shot is unus
