Yeah I had an issue with this. Try clicking the little 'on' symbol to the upper left of the extrude tool axis. I can see it in the picture you posted. If you click that then it should extrude as norma

I usually use Magic Bullet Looks for grading. What Kind of problems are you experiencing with Colour because if they're pretty unreconcilable I would just use Pro Res LT, especially with 7D footage. J
