The difference in the file sizes is what you'd expect. Video recorded by cameras is very often in ACQUISITION codecs, which aren't the best for editing, then adding effects, then color correction, etc

Hi, I uploaded a 30 sec commercial on the demo reels, but could somebody tell me why it has no sound in the compressed version? If you try and play the full uncompressed version, there is sound, but won't play smoothly. As I recall, the Adobe Flash instructions said to upload a full version. I uploaded an MOV file. I must be missing something. Here's the link:

Hi, I uploaded a 30 sec commercial on the demo reels, but could somebody tell me why it has no sound? There's an audio tone at the beginning (where the color bars are) in which I removed, but it still showed up. Don't understand that. But mainly, why is the audio track is missing? It is all on one file. I must be missing something. Here's the link:

Initial edge cropping a little too small after edit complete.

I just transferred an old TV show (taken from VHS) and re-edited the job, and have made a final H.264 ready for an upload. I made a mistake by not making the main clip slightly larger than the actual canvas, and have ended up with a rather jagged edge with a blue strip running all down the right and left side.

It's my fault for not noticing this during the editing process. I could have made the whole 50min clip slightly bigger (in the viewer with the wire frame) before I made in and out points. Too late now!

Well, I know how to fix this on each individual clip - but that will take a lonnnng time.
Is there a way I can select all the clips and tell FCP to resize each clip so's that I get a crisp edge? This is for upload on the internet, and not for a DVD output. So the edge needs to be sharp. It's a 720 x 480. Thanks in advance for a possible shortcut way out of this....hopefully!
