Hey Thomas, Yep you're right on the money there. Get your frame flex tab open when raw 4k clips are selected, change the Frame aspect ratio to 16:9 (within the Frame Flex window). From there you will

Trying to find the right tool to make new UHD generations (ProRes DNx) from from some H265 footage. Anyone know of any plugins for MC or Premiere Is there only 3rd party software that can handle this

Resolve wouldn't accept them either, much to my chagrin. It's typically my go-to for proxies. Maybe I could try upgrading. I have 12.1.0.015 currently, not sure what the latest is right now.
Desqueezing anamorphic using Frameflex

Can anyone advise on the correct settings to desqueeze anamorphic footage in frame flex There are many settings that get the pixel aspect ratio or image aspect ratio close to correct, but it's hard fo
Re: Desqueezing anamorphic using Frameflex

So Will, see the screenshot in the post. Just make sure your pixel aspect ratio is set to 2.00:1 and then in the FrameFlex window set the Frame Aspect Ratio to your intended size, in your case 2.19:1.

Just trying to get some solid information on these codecs for the C100 Mark ii. mp4 has a higher bit rate at 35mbps, but am wondering if AVCHD just does a better job at retaining quality at it's maxim

Simple sync?

If anyone's interested in what I ended up doing... I ended up still using AVID, then using Resolve as an intermediate to make an .xml that Premiere would accept nicely. I AMA'd to the media and made a
Editing in 4444

Just got handed ProRes 4444 media that I was expecting to be HQ. My original plan was to cut in HQ, but am now having to consider the possibility of making proxies for an offline edit. I'd really love

The files are much larger than you probably need, but since ProRes is a high-performance codec you'll probably be fine as long as you don't cut more than 2 to 3 streams. Multi cam editing may prove to

OK. I figured out how to tweak it after transcode by simply changing the aspect ratio setting in the FrameFlex box in Source Settings. What you are also telling me now though is a little alarming. I'l

"they baked in a LUT for the footage" if they baked in the LUT, there's nothing for you to add or change. Unless they don't really mean they baked it in. A bit vague, the idea of a LUT is NOT to bake

I'd bet Camtasia is using x264 on Windows. I do note that it's only using Baseline Level 3.0 and CAVLC (CABAC No). VBR encode. 640x360 232kbps which is very low. Good quality at that low bitrate would
