So my offline from the red footage is 1080p 23.98. Somehow the sequence I cut the show in ended up being 720p 29.97. It looks fine but I need to send out a reference video with the correct frame rate

Can't use RED Cine X because I don't meet minimum requirements. Like I said my Mac Pro is 10.6.8. Anyway, looks like I'll have someone transcode the 4K red files into ProRes 422 just to chop them up.

hmm... at this point, it's likely that even though you may speed it up you will still find sync issues throughout the video. I'd keep an eye on it, and at the risk of corrupting the video, it may be b

Thanks David, although like I said I'm still using FCP7 and 10.6.8 and am not willing to upgrade. Thanks anyway, it makes sense, I'll stay in 4K till the very end.

Experimented with screen capture all day. The quality is just not good enough. I'm gonna keep fighting to get the Mp4 to ProRes conversion work. Any tips welcome.

This does sound like a solution BUT there is no MediaCoreQTCodecRulesCS5.xml file on my system. I might have already followed those instructions a year ago when I experienced the same issue. Not sure.
