HD lost when event imported from iMovie

I'm trying the Final Cut Pro X Trial as opposed to iMovie. I've imported some events that were HD but learned when I went to share with Youtube that resolution available was 960 X 540. If I Quicktime

iMovie has the option of creating (conforming) projects to 960x540. For the consumer, this means their video will take up 1 4 of the space of full HD. Technically, btw, 960x540 is HD, defined as great
