by Johan Windh 5 years ago
Hi- I'm having a mystery. I've rendered some graded shots from Resolve Lite out as DNxHD 10-bit files. Imported into Premiere they all look fine and dandy. BUT if I take them into AE directly, they ge

Or you could export and composite with openEXR, DPX, or Cineon image file sequences and avoid all this automagical mxf or quicktime 'video colorspace' voodoo nonsense in the first place. John Tissavar

If I'm understanding what you want... there are four ways to get what you want: 1) in the qualifier window click the magic wand icon to enable mask highlighting 2) from the menu - 'View Highlight High

Premiere to DaVinci - Frame Resize
by Matt Lowe 6 years ago
Hey All, So I've edited a short 3 minute piece using the 4K R3D files on Premiere, on a 1080 timeline, and I've done a ton of frame resizing. I'm trying to find a way to get these frame resizes to tra

If, in a Premiere edit, the source footage is a different size than the edit sequence, one must choose a method of scaling and stick with it. Mixing will cause headaches in Resolve conforms. Here is w
Playback performance issues

Hey all - Just getting into learning Resolve 11.1 as an editor. The first big issue I am having is performance. I cam getting constant stuttering or dropped frames (red light flashes above record side
Re: Playback performance issues

My experience is that Resolve doesn't handle avchd and other long-gop codecs all that well. I tend to avoid using them to cut from, and choose to transcode. Basically AVCHD is h.264 with extra format
outgoing - incoming frames viewable simultaneously?

Is there a way, using split screen or another method, to see both the outgoing and incoming frames of two consecutive shots... The best method I have used so far is to do a freeze on my grading monito

100% agree, even with stills I have a tendency to toggle back and forth from a full screen still, rather than wipe a split except in cases you mention: matching specific shot elements accurately. JT J
Yosemite

Hi, folks. I was hoping to get some affirmation from working Resolve colorists that upgrading to OSx Yosemite is safe. I never went to Mavericks because I didn't see any consensus (at least last time

Davinci Overwriting files in timeline

I have multiple clips in a timeline that all come from the same source, lets say a one camera interview, and so with the selects made from that one video file from the one source, Davinci keeps saving

in the delivery tab, make sure you're in 'intermediate' render settings mode, then check the 'Render unique filenames' box and you'll see the result you want. Or, render DPX sequence, since that won't

So far my experience is a bit different. I've got a spare 3,1 2x 4 core that I've been experimenting with a bit... Have 10.9.5 running right now, no problems at all. Tried a few different GPUs but hav

5.02 timecode problem with r3d
by John Tissavary 9 years ago
I'm having an issue with r3d build 30 timecode in PP CS5 5.02. When shot at 23.976, premiere seems to interpret the timecode incorrectly, for example a particular clip that actually starts at 15:51:43

How to substitute footage, etc...

noisy video

Is there any way to remove noise from video I was thinking like Noise Ninja will do on stills Any suggestions
Re: noisy video
by John Tissavary 12 years ago
The after effects version is far better, but your best bet is to run your footage through after effects and use its native grain noise removal tool (used to be Grain Surgery until it was bought by AE)
