film unreeling with dynamics

I'm trying to simulate film unreeling from a projection reel, whilst the reel is rolling along the ground, possibly bouncing a bit. I considered using a tracer and making a dynamic spline out of it bu

Hi Steve. I couldn't work out how to trace between a chain of particles dropped from an emitter but I moved on to the spline dynamics and fairly quickly it's working well. It's a helix spline with a h

Script to create a video timeline based on edit points

This is a slightly random question. I'm doing a long job animating screen grabs of video timelines. A lot of the time this involves cutting up a screen grab in Photoshop so that I can separate the cli
Re: Script to create a video timeline based on edit points

Hi Dan. Sorry, I'm not explaining it very well. So I would send a real world edit to After Effects, either as an EDL, aaf, or direct from Premiere. That edit would have a total duration and each video
Should Nvidia Quadro 2000 still work with CUDA in 2019?

I'm running both Premiere 2018 and 2019 on the same Windows 10 desktop. In 2018 I can still choose CUDA acceleration, in 2019, I only have the software option available. I've got the latest NVidia dri

Yes. I guess it has reached the end of its life. I was just posting in case there was some other reason why it wasn't working anymore. I'll look out for a replacement when I hit a heavy project. Just

Resizing tracked camera move

I've 3D tracked a camera in After Effects. It's a handheld camera POV walking in to an underpass that was probably in reality about 2.5m high. When I bring it in to Cinema the camera coordinates sugge

Wow. That was actually so easy. I'd done it with Xpresso on the camera but that makes a lot more sense. Thanks for your input. John
Unwanted narrowing on sweep

Thanks for your help Pat. I finally got 8.3.1 installed and it has definitely helped a lot. Occasionally the Avid still goes in to a spin but it's now far far better. I noticed that it still comes up

Big Effect Mode not working

Pasting expressions on layers from Photoshop

Well thanks, I guess you're referring to the FCP crash as the broken main system. It seems to crash when under RAM pressure. It's a large sequence in HD. Not doing it all the time, just 3 or four time
