Use part of a puppet as a mask
by John Jennette 3 years ago
I have a character rigged and animated using the puppet tool. She will appear in a circular inset and interact with a second character - this I will do by simply creating the circle and using it as a

I would finish my animation of the shot without masking the puppet in the circular inset at all. Just position it on top of the circular inset and animate. I would then render a pass of just the puppe

Duik tools character rigging- change position of limbs afterwards
by Michael Paul 4 years ago
So I have used Duik tools (latest version 15 something) to rig a character. Nothing fancy. Just a normal guy standing around. I've got limbs which are ONE graphic each time: right leg, left leg, right

Unexplained Mask Around Rig
by John Jennette 4 years ago
My character's head seems to have procured a mask around it that interferes with the rotation rigging. I'm new to rigging, and I'm sure something isn't playing nice in my setup, but I can't pinpoint w
Outlines on a Silhouette Animation
by John Jennette 4 years ago
I have an animated silhouette rigged with Duik and CC 2015. Since it's a silhouette and all one flat color without a stroke, I lose definition when an arm goes in front of the body. If the character i

Thanks for your suggestion Erik, this is exactly what I was expecting to be able to do. But character rigs are a lot more complicated than simple shapes... Duplicating just the arm wreaks havoc with t
Interpolation issue with graph editor

I am attempting to add some simple easing but I can't figure out what's going on "under the hood" in the graph editor. I inherited the file from a third-party videographer, so I don't know how any set

Yeah, that's what I think I will do. Luckily it is a very straightforward, four five keyframe motion. Thanks for helping me try to puzzle it out! I may still see if I can ask him how he keyframed, bec
