Avid Pan & Zoom has been broken for at least 2 years. You'll get a "boomerang" type move, no matter what settings you try. It's a known bug and 2 years ago I was told they were working on it. Earlier

Using an anchor point is a good idea unless you have to adjust it?

I'm animating photos and understand that I should use the anchor point instead of the position tool. But I am scaling out of a photo while changing the anchor point. The move does not happen the way I

Thanks, Dave! You're right. After setting some anchor key frames and working with the speed graph I was able to do it! Appreciate your guidance.

Jerky motion

Hello Helpful Editors,
I have Avid MC 8 but I have dv tapes recorded at 12bit sound (not sure the khz). Sadly Avid only offers the two flavors of bit , 16 and 24. Is there anyway to record my tapes so that the audio does not have drop outs? (got this to work with fcp at one point and so may have to use that program again)
Thanks,
John

Okay, I found the 32khz option (created a different project). Since my tape is 32 kHz and 12 bit (although I'm guessing that should not lead to drop outs) I was happy when my tape captured without sto [more]

Hi, Kevin, thanks for all your help so far. I've got a simple question. I applied 3D warp to a still frame, moving it across the frame. The still stops in the middle of the frame but does not stop as smoothly as I want. I would like to slow down THE SPEED gradually before it stops. However, using bezier on the x and y axis changed the movement from a straight line and I don't want that to occur. Is there any way that I can keyframe just THE SPEED before the still stops? Can I only accomplish this in After Effects or BCC?
THANKS!

I am capturing from a tape but avid creates a clip every 15 seconds (after giving me the sample rate does not match project rate warning). I'm not concerned about the audio but would like to know why the avid stops exactly every 15 seconds.
FYI: when I capture the same tape in fcp7 there's no problem. it captures the entire tape.
BTW: I have capture across sync breaks checked and TC is not highlighted in the capture tool.
Thank you!
