Hi Jean, If you're simply trying to rotate an object (a cube for example), just keyframe one or more of its rotation parameters. But if "rotate on itself" refers to something else, please provide more

For spurts of particles, keyframe particle visibility on and off (100% for 30 frames, then 0% for 30 frames, ie.).

That is normal as of R20. To scale a texture, either use the scale tool in the viewport in Texture mode, or adjust the scale settings in the texture tag. Or is there something else you are trying to d

If I understand what you're after -- to displace the cubes vertically according to the text in the movie -- set the texture tag's Projection to "Flat," and then in Texture Mode rotate the texture -90
