Hey everyone, I'm looking at getting some new cameras, and well, since it's been a challenge to see what's what, I'm coming from an EX-1, thought about a PMW-200, then reading up on the PXW-x200, and

by frank Raposo 8 years ago
I keep getting an error message when trying to open Symphony 6.0.1.- Exception failed to initialize audio hardware. I don't have audio hardware attached! It's software only. I haven't had this problem
Re: Symphony 6 will not open- Error initializing audio hardware?

Symphony is not qualified for use with 10.7.4, so that may be the issue, though I still think it may be an OSX issue. Does audio work in other programs Have your tried shutting the unit down and then

Anyone know of a keyboard shortcut map for Premier Pro 6.0 that is available The way they present the keybd shortcuts in the app is not user friendly. Looking for something similar to what is in FCP 7

Is it ok for AVID to be slow with AMA footage?
by alec gitelman 8 years ago
Hi, I have a project with about 8-9 hours of footage in quicktime files with XDCam 1080p media. I am using AMA to link to those files. Editing is painfully slow - playback is fine, but every action ta

I have been editing with AVID 5.5.3 using many hours of xdcam footage with no issues whatsoever. Didn't want to have to transcode and haven't. I will consolidate shortly, but AMA works great for me at
Rendering in FCPX
by Jeremy Cole 9 years ago
Downloaded the 30 day trial and worked with it. It is pretty, and it appears fast, until I start to do anything that typically needs rendering, then it grinds to crawl as the background rendering eats

I've only got four versions of the one 90 second project in the library; I've turned off background rendering because that's not useful at all; I'm working with ProResLT media ... Anecdotal evidence s
AVCHD workflow: is it a PITA?

I am intrigued by the AG-AC160 that Panasonic just released. But I have read some things about the AVCHD format that worry me a bit. Particularly the time that it takes to transfer and convert to ProR
Re: AVCHD workflow: is it a PITA?

I use ClipWrap to get the footage quickly into FCP. Works great. Log and Transfer works too, but takes longer. AVID does not appear to have an AMA connection to get AVCHD footage into it. Too bad, bec

Apple has produced a consumer prosumer level product. Just look at the feature set, the names they use to describe processes, the lack of a customizable interface, the devices they feature in the menu

The Sigma works just fine with the D7000. The 20mm works, obviously, in manual mode. The others will not mount on the D7000. Regards, Jeremy
