Pixel. Stopped buying their plugins. Always look good in the trailer but most of them are pretty flaccid. Plus the way their boss dealt with the mDust thieving was pretty dire. And even free this one

Why did you transcode before you had picture lock Actually, why did you transcode at all DVCPRO HD P2 is MXF...Avid works with that natively. I say go back to the sequence BEFORE you transcoded and ed

Where have you been ;-) By now this is old news and started weeks ago. In fact, there are several threads on this and other forums about the same subject. FWIW - every company gets sued. Even Apple. T

Delete the MSM database files in each of those folders on the hard drive as it will force Media Composer to rebuild them on startup. There will be two of them in each of the numbered folders. Delete t

Re: Fonts in Script Synch
by Michael Phillips 7 years ago
The ScriptSync window was never really adapted to the shared project bin concept so it may not have all the hooks needed to be "shared" the same way a bin does. Have you just tried copying a version o

Re: Sending for color correction, saving on postage.
by Shane Ross 7 years ago
Yes. It's called the MEDIA MANAGER. Select the sequence by having it open, and then use the Media Manager's COPY function...making sure to delete the unused media, and give yourself 1 second handles.

Re: Transcoded 16:9 HD to SD 4:3 project
by Michael Phillips 7 years ago
You can always use the Reformat Pan & Scan (not pan & zoom) from the effect palette to set up letterbox, pillarbox, or pan and scan or pan and tilt depending on needs. If using AMA to access sources,

The version in Avid v5 is incompatible with version 6. The new one is 64 bit. The old one won't work if it comes unrendered.

Re: Slow RAM Preview in Motion 5

I certainly wouldn't use Apple Intermediate or Animation codecs, there is no reason for that at all. The fact is that Motion's RAM preview playback just doesn't work the way it's supposed to (IMHO of

This is how I would do it. Shoot the person on a green screen and then key them out. Place them in front of a white background. Apply the Bad TV filter to the person. It is at: Effects, Video Filters,

What codec did you transcode to The most foolproof is to transcode to a DNxHD codec and also transcode audio. Basically nothing in your sequence should be referencing an AMA sourced clip. Move the seq

With your offline project open. Create a new bin. AMA link to the media at the new location. New bin then becomes populated with AMA media. Original media should be relinked automatically.

Re: MXO2 mini and h.264 encode?
by Shane Ross 8 years ago
The MXO2 Mini with MAX (it's the MAX that does the H.264 encode) only speeds up exporting to H.264. It doesn't speed up encoding to any other codec, including DNxHD. Shane Little Frog Post Read my blo
