Re: Screen Share over the Internet

The easiest way I know to do this is to have a MobileMe account. It has a feature called 'Back to my Mac' that is made to make this work easily. It may be possbile without a MM account, but I'm not a

Re: Running Final Cut Studio Apps From External HDD

I think you can, but instead of that I'd suggest doing a custom installation on the internal drive. Before you install it, de-select the options for all the libraries of sound effects and music loops.

Re: ANOTHER THOUGHT

Here's another idea... Shoot the ceremony at 24p on both cameras and then switch to 30p for the reception. I think 24p looks lovely and romantic for shots of wedding vows and flower girls and whatnot.

What you're missing is that "XEON" is just Intel's marketing name for many different chips. Your computer uses the chips known internally at Intel as "Harpertown" chips. The newer Mac Pros use what In

Re: Panasonic AG DVX100B shooting mode

I personally do almost everything in 24p these days. But honestly, for a funeral, I'd just suggest using what you know best. If you've used 24p and are comfortable with editing and shooting it, go for
Best Mac Pro configuration for $5K?

Re: Best Mac Pro configuration for $5K?

I guess I didn't write that clearly, what I meant was that you'd lose speed with Parallels. Yeah, with Bootcamp hard drive space and re-booting time are the only things you lose. If you only want Wind

Re: Annual Salary for Videographer/Editor

I don't know that market either, but that seems reasonable given the type of jobs you'll be doing. A videographer can certainly earn a lot more than that but you'd need more experience and better jobs

Re: Trashing Preferences and keeping favorites

You can drag filters into the bin area, right alongside video clips. So, start a new project and tear off the "Effects" tab so it make it's own window. Drag your favorites from the effects folder righ

Red is a particularly problematic color. Always has been for video. Try the 'RGB Balance' filter and tap down the red saturation slightly. It might help a little without giving up too much red. Perhap

Re: How many Drive can I Daisy chain?

I believe the limit is 16. After that you could buy another firewire PCI card and more there. That being said, I agree with Shane. You should probably be looking in eSATA units with an eSATA card to c

I'd either split it into 3 files and burn it on 3 different disks (what I'd suggest) or I'd buy a mini firewire drive and just send that to them. There are 2 problems with the hard drive idea: - It co

Oscar, the first 2 posts were correct. The 'daylight' setting on the camera is closest. Fireworks are very hot...perhaps even bluer than daylight. But using the daylight preset will get you pretty clo

Tripod clarification

Speaking as someone who owns the 501 and the 503 I have to say that I really don't notice the difference. I'm sure there's something about the 503 that makes it "better" but it's not something I can r

The JVC GY-HD100U and Canon XL-2 are two cameras you should look up and think about. They both offer 24P recording similar to what you DVX does. The JVC is HDV, the Canon is DV. They both record anamo
