Bear in mind that pasting attributes pastes ALL attributes - you can't choose which to paste as you could in legacy FCP. At least removing the unwanted attributes is easier with the inspector pane. PI

Humberto, you mentioned your external HD is a Western Digital passport. Is this USB If so that's your problem with regard to disk speed - as many have said here before, NEVER use USB for editing from.
