Anyone know if there is a setting in 10 11 to stop the playhead from jumping to the end of a clip when placing it. If not, can this feature be added :) Serenity now!

No unfortunately. I believe since 8 the playhead has become over engineered. It isn't much of a bother after an hour or so working in the timeline. After 8-10hours it becomes more of a major nuisance
