The test I ran on some old dv footage this weekend revealed that the new final cut does not pick up the reel number!!! You will have to add a reel number back to the footage if you need to keep track

I have had the same behavior with our Harris legalizer. One trick that seems to calm the box down is making sure that your base setting of the kona card is the same flavor of video you are laying back

The DS is still a great box. It has not been updated which sucks. Now that Smoke is coming to the Mac could that have killed a newer DS Final cut needs help from other applications like After Effects

I have a similar setup. Final cut just renders slow. Until we get to a 64bit version of OS and Final Cut that is bulit to be multicore aware we are going to be taking render breaks! James

For shows longer then 30 minutes the fastest way to layback cuts is to a consumer DVD burner. 3-7 minutes to finalize and you can duplicate from there. Avid takes for freakinig ever to make Quicktimes
