Tracking problem when trying to keyframe need your assistance
by david fuku 2 years ago
Hi group, I've emailed Roger but he might be busy. I've had very limited success using slicex trackx in the year I've owned it. I suppose that's due to the extremely small areas of a person I am tryin

Mocha works by tracking texture. The trick to a successful track is being able to select a textured plane which stays together throughout a shot. As you suspected, selecting a very small area can be p
TrackX - Very Inconsistent Behavior
by Bryan Jackson 3 years ago
I'm assessing whether I'd like to purchase SliceX TrackX and L&L. I am running OS X 10.10.1 with FCPX 10.1.3. CoreMelt plugins downloaded today (latest versions). I've only tried TrackX at this point.

Just with regard to the missing Open Text Editor button, it's probably the case that you have Background Render turned on. It's best to deactivate if from Preferences so that none of the TrackX instan
TrackX: Want text to fade in, then fade out

Hello, I want to put a cross dissolve on the Track Text generator, but it isn't working. Is there a way to do this using the built-in FCPX tools or another option I searched the forum but couldn't fin

No problem at all, and thanks! If you have any requests for tutorials, let us know and we'll see what we can do.
Simple Tracker fails every time
by Scott Tuchman 3 years ago
Once again I find myself with this damn simple tracker not working. Every time I go to track text, I get an error "cannot be used with compound clips, please use it with contained videos separately."
Re: Simple Tracker fails every time
by Iain Anderson 3 years ago
Sorry for any confusion. The clip that you track that is, the clip you connect the Simple Tracker to must be a regular clip, not a compound clip. However, once you've performed the tracking, the clip

Good to see some AE PP results. My colleague Ben Balser and I did some FCP X speed tests recently on all the Macs we had handy: http: www.macprovideo.com hub final-cut final-cut-pro-x-performance-test
Not crazy about the new media management structure
by Brett Sherman 4 years ago
I'm puzzling over how I'm going to deal with the new library structure. I understand that it will work better for many facilities. But in my case, we don't tend to work on big projects for long period
Re: Not crazy about the new media management structure

No, FCP X will do the right thing. If you store your media in an external location on your network, you can refer to it in as many different libraries as you want, and it won't duplicate your media. M
Premiere Pro CC impressions

Ah, got it. I guess if you're really happy with the plug-ins you'd want to keep using them, but from the outside, them seem expensive for what you get. Clearly I'm biased, as I create promo and tutori
Lock & Load X test version for FInal Cut Pro X

Hi, Lock & load will soon be available for Final Cut Pro X, we know some of you have been waiting a while for this. We have a test version available, its stable and much much faster than the built in

It does work with Compound clips, but you'll get better results stabilizing each clip with the compound rather than trying to do the whole lot at once. Multicam is a little different; you can stabiliz
"I'll stick to FCP but I encourage you to switch to CS6"

In the top left and right corners of the Viewer (even in FCP 6) there are timecode fields. The one in the top left is the Duration field, and that's the one you should change.
Updated Chroma Keyer

The short answer is that FCP X's Keyer now works just like Motion 5's Keyer, with many more options for tricky keys.
Is FCPX worth it now with the new update?

So now that FCPX finally has multiclip (and an awesome one from what I have seen), as well as some other features like a new chroma keyer and 7toX plugin, is FCPX worth getting now ===================

I don't have the same issues with responsiveness that you report; it's always been fast and responsive, certainly much better than FCP 7. Though, if you don't like skimming, you can turn it off. Shift

Yes. You'll want to keyframe the overall strength up over the part that needs stabilised, then down again afterwards. Take a look at this tutorial from around 2:00. http: library.creativecow.net artic

One positive thing: freshly ingested DV tapes recognize and display the time and date they were shot, not just ingested. Fantastic to see my ancient tapes ripping in with dates from 1999.
Looking for the simplest way to put cross fades just on the audio.

Another poster alluded to this, but if you create a new Transition in Motion, then save without making any changes, that *is* an audio-only transition. Give it that name when you save, in a Category f
