How do you make sure images used in textures don't disappear from a file?
by Hilary Tsai 3 months ago
I thought I had the settings so that all my texture dependencies get saved within my project files, but every time I reorganize my desktop, images get lost from files and I have to replace every one.

File "Save Project with Assets..." will create a folder with your scene file and a tex folder in which all your textures are stored.
How can I bake a sound effector animation for export?

I have a speaker animated by a sound effector with music. I want to bake the movement from the sound effector into the speaker so I can export it as .glb. Someone in a video recommended Mograph Cache

Thank you so much, Brian!! I will give this a try! I have R21 now too, since my S22 trial has run out. I'm excited to see the result:)
Exporting in .glb format ignores "seen by camera" disabled on compositing tag

I exported an object as .glb, which reflects an hdmi surface object. The hdmi object has a compositing tag with "seen by camera" checked off. However, it is still visible when my main object is export
Texture baking vs. not texture baking

I have some confusion over when texture baking is required prior to exporting a model scene. It was my understanding that textures will always require baking if you want them intact when exported. How
Why are textures being stretched when my object is exported as .gltf?
by Hilary Tsai 4 months ago
To demonstrate this issue I'm having, I made a rectangular prism, sliced and textured with 2 different image textures. As you see, in the viewport they look correct. The tile texture is mapped perfect

Thank you, Sam! Your method of deleting the default UVW tag and then converting the material to UVW worked great!

What type of software is typically used for cueing live vfx at major rock shows?

I'm highly interested in the world of vfx for live music, such as Elton John's goodbye tour where he has custom graphics for each song. I always see a station with computers media servers and a guy op

Wow Matthew, this is incredibly detailed and helpful. I didn't know the media servers were responsible for so much of the synchronization--likely because I didn't know much about media servers at all,
All my 3rd party plugins were wiped from Aftereffects 2017

I'm not sure exactly when it happened, and I've kept the same version of AE 2017 for the past few years. I had plugins from Video Copilot, GenArts Sapphire and Boris fx. One day, I noticed all of them

Fonts not installing properly, and they do not show up in fonts menu within AE

I installed a new font (unzipped to my Mac desktop, and then dropped it into fonts folder within Library directory). Apparently, this is all I am supposed to do in order for the font to show up in AE.
Lapses in audio when mp4 is brought into AE

To control when an object falls you could either keyframe the "Enabled" setting in the dynamics tag, or keyframe the "Dynamic" setting from Off to On. The advantage of the second option is that leavin
