So in screen capture method you're talking about... am I understanding correctly that the screen capture is then the painted version of the face over a black background Of course, that's assuming I'm
Backlit greenscreen
by Greg Sage 1 month ago
I've built a few greenscreens, and it's always been a pain to light them in tight spaces battling flags, hotspots and all the rest. Meanwhile, the light itself is generally coming from large softboxes

Definitely interested to hear from anyone who has done a backlit system, or maybe due to their use of some of the materials in another context has insight into elements like: 1) White or green LED's:

Dialing in word reveal behavior i lyric video.

I need to make a lyric vid, and considering doing so in c4d. I was originally planning on doing it in AE, so I already have per word markers set in Premiere. 1) Are there any particular pros and cons
See visual confirmation of marker names as they roll by?

I'm making a music lyric video. Most will be done in AE, but the lyrics are so dense, I figured it would be much easier to set the per word markes in Premiere. I've sarted going through, setting a mar

I would suggest using a closed caption track to add the lyrics at their respective timecodes in the sequence, then turning on the closed caption display in the program monitor.
Retarget workflow for Mixamo when poly count / textures are too high for Mixamo upload

I've read up as much as I can on Mixamo issues, and it seems there are now file size and poly count limits on the uploads among other limitations. Ultimately, I'm trying to apply the animations to a c

Head swap / add shoes to character within c4d?
by Greg Sage 8 months ago
I have a powerful, but older mac, and a wimpy PC. The various character generator programs I tried either won't work on the mac due to outdated OS, won't work on the PC due to low end video card, etc.

Optimizing image accuracy for AE use between Mac, 980ti, and new 4k tv (working colorspace, bit depth, etc)

I know it's not ideal, but for other reasons, I need a single 65" monitor. I do, however, make music videos mainly using After Effects, and use tons of effects, so I would like to do the best I can to

Best compromise for color accuracy connecting 980 Ti card to my new 4k 10 bit TV given in/out choices and hardware limits?

Weighing cost vs performance of dual purpose 65" tv / occasional video editing monitor duties

Well, two reasons. The camera may change at some point, but more importantly, the tv's MAIN function isn't video editing. That's only something I do a few times a year. Mainly, it's a desktop monitor,
smoothing out changes between frames to avoid jittery sketch and cartoonize effects

How do you update adobe cc apps installed under EEA?

What a byzantine mess. Zero contact options enabled for adobe despite paying thousands of bucks. Zero instructions on how to do so. Not in the EEA FAQ, not anywhere that I can find. It's mind boggling

yes, that's right - though the black and white are default but it's possible to invert that in the Alpha channel if you do have an alpha channel which is "backward" without having to redo it

Virtual camera causing mysterious rectangle

There are something like a hundred images in this scene, so it took a while, but I "muted" them one by one to try to get rid of this ghosted dark rectangle that appears near the center of the screen.

Turn off motion blur and see if it goes away. If it does it's because you have two layers on the same Z space and the camera is moving forward backwards.
