Be aware that video over CAT 5 will have latency issues. For iMag this is a dealbreaker. I think you should continue to look for SDI options.

You've sorted it out yourself. MC doesn't support pre-multipled alpha channels.

It sounds like the legacy import feature only works if you uninstall the AMA plug-in. Easy peasy, just uninstall and reinstall the AMA plug depending if you want to work via AMA or import the media. T

It depends on what version of Thunder you are running. We had an old version of Thunder (pre MXF). Our standard work flow was to import DV files (Pinnacle codec). If necessary we could import HD files

If I had the need to archive 2000 hours of footage and I had multiple FCP suites available for ingest - I would probably choose ProRes 422 HQ. Just an opinion.
