Do you have access to a c-stand Your best bet would be to mount the shotgun above your interviewees as close as you can w o busting frame. As for your option "b", you could always juggle the mike & ca

I would strongly second the GL2. It will work good in low light, and has a better zoom than the DVX, if say, you had to set up the camera from across the room.
