Any advice on this matter I get slow response times, crazy crashes, FCPX quits etc... I have 32 gig of RAM, 8TB of storage on FusionDX, Aja Kona LHi, ATI Radeon 5870 and of course Atto R380. And whats

Timeline Index Question
by Jordan Mena 6 years ago
I'm creating new roles for different types of media in my FCPX Events. Why aren't these roles showing up in my timeline index I know I can do this. But can't find that option. All I'm getting are the

Also don't forget to display the role column by right clicking in the columns headings in the timeline index This way you can search and select by role right in the TL index. (The Role Tab allows you
FCPX or Not - Looking for decent audio export
by Chris Newberry 7 years ago
hi FCP7 - my current edit prog - allows me to export OMF when sending my sound away to have the sound worked on. My understanding - and horror - is that FCPX does not have this option! What options do

Hi Jacob, Yes I often go past 2 gig with AAF. In fact the last issues I encountered with this 2 gig limit were with OMF files a few years ago, and indeed I had to split my timeline. I've never had thi
Hold
by Julian Bowman 6 years ago
A good example of new not being better, especially when new replaces something that worked well. I would do often grab stills of video footage to use a background during my films. In 7 it was easy. Fr

Freeze frame in FCPX came back with 10.0.6. Just hold Option + F from a timeline clip or an event clip.
"Expand audio compoments" in event browser?
by Nedim Bora 6 years ago
Hello! I was wondering if it's possible to assign roles to different audio channels of a clip in the event browser, just like assigning roles in the timeline via "expand audio components". I have two

As I understood the OP, it's about batch assigning differents roles to multichannels audio clips (boom, lav...), which is impossible right now.
Rewrapping with QuickTime in Mountain Lion
by Fabien Daguerre 7 years ago
So with ML, we can read AVHD structure with QuickTime. I tried to read an orphan .MTS file with QT, then tried to export it (format: sequence). It results that QT can now rewrap mts files, even is AVC

Morten Hansen "ClipWrap does the job without transcoding." As does FCPX. If you don't transcode the media and use original quality, FCPX simply rewraps AVCHD to h264 like Clipwrap. Jeremy
The Old Subtitle copy paste trick!
by David Battistella 7 years ago
Yep, I'm subtitling a film and doing the old COPY PASTE from a pages document. I wish that the title tool would hold the formating I set up in the motion template, but alas it does not. I have to enla

Just checked, if you paste into viewer, it holds source formating (done in Pages). If you paste into inspector, in Text tab, it holds destination formating (set up in your Motion template)

Is there a way to copy a video effect and then paste it to another clip without effecting the new clip's audio For example, I want to copy a sepia effect from a clip where there is no sound, but when

I've got another workaround for this : I copy the source clip as connected clip (cmd-C, opt-V) Then I reset all the parameters I don't want to be pasted on the destination clip. Now I can copy-paste t

Subject of this sub-forum?

Why are there so many posts now that are directly aimed at CS6 users I think the time to debate if FCPX or not is long over. FCPX has its place in the market just like any other NLE and while FCPX use
