I'm going to do some tests when we upgrade our systems. It's a bit of a pain however as Episode 7 requires OSX 10.10 or later and we're still on 10.9. But in all due time... :)

A tip is to check your workflow in that you actually get proper bit depth in and out. Premiere is quite an odd bird in this regard. - DPX I think works in RGB 10- or 16-bit but I can't say for sure. -

If you have pre-comps that are 1080p in the massive comp you could try to pre-render this as new assets and replace the main comp with the pre-rendered versions. This tends to speed things up greatly.

Is 25 Hz footage required to be the same speed length at 30 Hz If not, in AE, choose "Interperate footage" and change the footage frame rate there. 25 to 30 fps is however a noticeable speed increase

It really depends. Some renders will be affected more than others. Primarily turning multi-processor rendering off will decrease speed by a lot (of course depending on host system).
