with 10.5.4 Drivers I see again a lot of lag when using AV-Preview in FCPX. I hit space to play and the video will start only a couple of moments later (1-2 sec) then it will skip some frames (5 sec)

I see a huge step down in render-speed on 12.1 compared to the 11 Version. when going form ProRes to XdcamHD I had 4-5 Realtime on 11 - now it s only 4-5 frames a sec. Or am I missing something

I don t think, that a dedicated GUI-Card will give you much more speed in resolve. so you could get rid of the GT 120 and be happy ...

For Resolve 12 you will need to run Yosemite, which is not supported by your hardware.

I wouldn t risk to rely on the AVCHD-Codec for this kind of job, since it s only 8bit 4:2:0 sampling. Better rent a Samurai, then you will get ProRes with 4:2:2 Color-Sampling.

Hi, you can capture ProRes (SQ) from SD sources with an dual G5 2,3. This is with 8 gb Ram and a Kona LHe. We use this machine in our everyday workflow. A quad should do the job easiliy.

Hi, make sure in your aja control panel: timecode burn-in is set to "off". precode your tape with the vtr-controls. then edit to tape. should work fine
